Internet Marketing

Internet marketing for beginners: start with the system, not the tactic.

Internet marketing is the use of online channels to attract attention, communicate value and move the right audience toward a useful next action. Beginners usually make faster progress when they understand the system before collecting tactics.

The five moving parts

  1. Audience: who you want to help.
  2. Problem: what they are trying to solve.
  3. Traffic: how they discover you.
  4. Offer: the product, service or action that creates value.
  5. Measurement: what tells you whether the system works.

Choose one primary traffic channel first

Search, social, email, partnerships and paid advertising behave differently. A beginner does not need to master all of them at once. Pick a channel that matches your audience and resources, learn it deeply, then add complementary channels.

Where affiliate marketing fits

Affiliate marketing is one monetization model inside the larger system: a publisher refers a visitor to another business and may earn a commission when a qualifying action occurs.
